2019 WCF Pageant Application

Applications for the 40th Annual Wayne County Fair Royalty Pageant are now available at Wayne County High School and Middle School offices, Wayne County 4-H Office.  All applications must be returned by Saturday, March 23.

Residents of Wayne County or members of the Wayne County 4-H program ages 12-18 as of August 1, 2019 are eligible to compete for the title of Wayne County Fair Queen or Princess depending on their age.  Considered to be one of the largest pageants in the tri-county area, contestants will receive an opportunity to enhance their public speaking and interpersonal skills.  The pageant will be Friday, April 26 at Marion High School.  The Queen, Princess and Court will reign over the 164th Annual Wayne County Fair August 12-17 in Palmyra as well as make numerous public appearances.

2019 Wayne County Fair Apprentice 

Application Now Available

Attention high school Juniors and Seniors as of January 2019!  The Wayne County Fair is looking for a current 2019 high school Junior or Senior to be the 2019 Wayne County Fair Apprentice.  The Apprentice will have the opportunity to work with the Fair’s, Board of Directors during the week of the Wayne County Fair August 12-17 and gain experience in learning what it is like to organize and run this annual event.
1st Place           $250 Cash Prize and title of “Wayne County Fair 2019 Apprentice”
2nd Place          $50 Cash Prize
3rd Place             Wayne County Fair Passes

The applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2019.

To provide financial assistance to those high school and college students who have been active in their local Fairs or the NYSSAF and who intend to pursue or who are pursuing higher education.

Up to Ten (10) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded for 2019.

Applicant must be in his/her senior year of high school in New York State or be a New York State resident already attending college and planning to pursue or already pursuing a degree at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Applications must be downloaded from the NYSAAF website, www.nyfairs.org, completed by the student, printed out, signed by the applicant and a parent or guardian, and then submitted to one of our Member Fairs or to the NYSSAF for endorsement. Contact information must include cell phone number. Handwritten applications will not be considered.  Students should be sure to contact their local fairs in advance to confirm membership in our organization and office hours.  A complete list of our members can be found on our website.

Selection Process
A selection committee will determine the year’s scholarship recipients.

Deadlines for applications are as follows:

Student to Member Fair by 2nd Friday in April
Member Fair to District Director by 3rd Friday in April
District Director to Executive Secretary by May 3, 2019
Executive Secretary to Committee Chairperson by May 10, 2019

As another year approaches, the Wayne County Fair is looking for some community help with preparation for the 2019 fair.  For years, the Wayne County Fair has always been promoted with pride by surrounding community.  We are looking for volunteers to assist us in another successful year.

In our quest for volunteers, we are asking your organization to refer potential volunteers to us.  Whether people are looking for small volunteering contributions towards their communities available.

In advance, we Thank You for any consideration in helping our community with our fair preparation. We hope we can share with others the sense of pride we receive in making our Wayne County Fair a success this year for years to come.
