RABBITS AND CAVIES

Entry Fee: (10% of 1st place premium.) Payment must accompany entry form.

Entries Due: Saturday, August 4, 2007. Late entries will be accepted upon the approval of the Superintendents.

All animals accepted on SUNDAY ONLY, August 12, 2007, between the hours of 12 NOON and 6 PM.
Judging begins Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 4:00 PM .

Animals must meet all Health Requirements as sent forth by the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
Animals must remain on the grounds until 10:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2007 and must be picked up no later than 11:00 PM on Saturday, August 18.

 

  1. The superintendent will check the health of all rabbits entered before they are accepted. Any animal that is unsightly or showing signs of sickness or disease will not be allowed on the grounds
  2. All exhibitors must clearly identify breed, sex, age and color variety on his/her entry blank. Exhibitors must completely fill out show remark cards provided and return to Superintendents.
  3. Show is open to adults and youth (4-H, F.F.A, etc.).
  4. Classes will provide for the following breeds (listed below), by sex, with varieties within breeds.
  5. Exhibitors must provide feed and bedding for their rabbits.
  6. All entries are entered and shown at the risk of the owners. The Wayne County Fair will not be responsible in case of fire, theft, accident or providential destruction.
  7. Premiums will be paid as follows: 1st: $3.00 2nd: $1.75 3rd: ribbon
    Premium money will be available at the Secretary’s office Friday afternoon
    .
  8. Section 1 – 4 Classes: Juniors to be three(3) months of age to six(6) months of age. Seniors to be over six(6) months of age.
  9. Section 2 – 6 Classes: Juniors to be three(3) months of age to six(6) months of age. Intermediates to be six (6) months of age to eight (8) months of age. Seniors to be over eight (8) months of age.
  10. Coop numbers will be assigned and will be used for judging. This is not permanent identification. Tattooing numbers in the ear is permanent and will not disfigure the animal when done properly. It is customary to use the left ear for tattooing. Coop numbers will be placed in the right ear of the rabbit.
