2009 Fair Results: 

SUMMER BERRY PIE WINS 20th ANNUALWAYNE COUNTY FAIR PIE CONTEST
Mott’s, a Dr. Pepper Snapple Group of Williamson, NY sponsored the 20th  Annual Wayne County Fair Pie Contest. All 38 contestants received a Mott’s gift bag.  Immediately following the competition, Dave Koeberle of Reynold’s Auction Company in Palmyra auctioned off all the pies. The auction raised $1,036 to be used towards Fair renovations.  The pie contest was brought back to replicate an “old fashion” pie competition.  Five employees from Mott’s judged contestant’s pies on appearance, removal of a slice, crust, filling and overall appearance.

2009 Apprentice Winner

Samantha L. Wilson, daughter of Matthew S. and Sally Wilson, was chosen as the 2009 Wayne County Fair Apprentice. She a 17 year old high school junior and is an Honor Roll student at North Rose-Wolcott High School. She is a member of her varsity volleyball team and youth group. Samantha plans to study criminal justice after graduating from high school.

The Wayne County Fair Apprentice program is in its 3rd year and offers an opportunity for a high school junior or senior to shadow the Wayne County Fair Board of Directors. The Apprentice learns about how to run a large community event and will receive a $250 award at the 2009 Wayne County Fair.
